About the Event
Dear Friends,
The recent Taal volcano eruptions in Batangas, Philippines left half a million residents in the area fleeing and
evacuating their homes. Volcanic ash covered everything in sight, contaminating the air making it difficult to
breathe, especially for the elderly and children.
The demand for clean water and food supplies grew exponentially. The people affected can only wait for help
from an overwhelmed disaster relief system. We are appealing for your assistance in easing recovery as the
southern part of the country has just been through a devastating earthquake and typhoon two weeks before the
eruption.
The Bayanihan Cultural and Housing Society in collaboration with the Victoria Filipino Canadian Association,
Victoria Filipino Canadian Seniors Association, Victoria Filipino Canadian Caregivers Association, and
ANCOP Canada International are collectively hosting a Dinner Fundraising at the Bayanihan Community
Centre on Sunday, February 9, 2020, starting at 5:30 PM. The cost is $20.00. Donations are welcome. You
can also mail donation cheques payable to:
Bayanihan Cultural & Housing Society
1709 Blanshard Street Victoria
BC V8W 2J8
Any monies beyond $20 will be issued a tax receipt. All proceeds will go directly to the victims thru the CFC
ANCOP Global Foundation Inc. Philippines.
We strongly appeal to your generosity to help and support this cause. Thank you so much in advance.
Sincerely,
Dominga Passmore, BCHS President
Annette Beech, VFCCA President
Manuel and Maria Razal, ANCOP Victoria
Agnes Myhre, VFCA President
